Description

Cheesy Beef and Potato Stuffed Roll for Ultimate Comfort Food

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Ground Beef (or ground turkey/chicken for lighter option)
  • 2 medium Potatoes (Yukon gold or russet preferred)
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (fresh)
  • 1 cup Cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or both)
  • 1 pizza dough Dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter or Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • optional Seasonings (paprika, Italian seasoning, or chili flakes)
  • optional Optional Toppings (sesame seeds or dried herbs)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potatoes: Peel, dice, and boil potatoes in salted water for 10-12 minutes until fork-tender, then drain them well to ensure a fluffy filling.
  2. Cook the Beef Mixture: In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté chopped onion until softened (about 4 minutes), add ground beef, seasonings, and cook until fully browned. Finally, stir in garlic and boiled potatoes, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes before removing from heat.
  3. Roll Out the Dough: On a floured surface, roll the dough into a rectangle, keeping the thickness even.
  4. Assemble the Roll: Spread the beef and potato mixture evenly over the dough, then sprinkle generously with cheese.
  5. Roll and Seal: Tightly roll the dough from one side to the other, pinching the edges to seal it. Place the seam-side down on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake: Brush with melted butter and an egg wash for extra shine, sprinkle with toppings if desired, and bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) for 25-30 minutes until it’s golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Rest and Serve: Let the roll rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to allow the cheese to set.
